Genki Japanese and Culture School (GenkiJACS) is a small, privately-owned Japanese language school that offers students the opportunity to learn Japanese language and culture in a relaxed and friendly learning environment. The school is located in Tenjin, the heart of Fukuoka City, in Kyushu, South Japan.

GenkiJACS  offers  courses in a range of areas, including conversational Japanese, Japanese through pop culture, Japanese culture, Business Japanese, and study for exams, all with an emphasis on practical work, inside and outside of the classroom. The school holds regular extra-curricula activities, and has an active social program. The school has 6 classroom (2 overflow rooms available in June—September peak period), and is very well equipped. Rie and Evan Kirby operate a school that will make your Japanese learning enjoyable and worthwhile.

GenkiJACS prides itself on offering top-rated Japanese language and culture classes presented by licensed professional teachers. Classes are taught in Japanese, however, all teachers and staff have excellent English skills. Class sizes are small, usually from6—8 students.  Students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of “Japanese only” activities designed to enhance your learning.

For students coming from overseas to study abroad, GenkiJACS recommends staying with one of their carefully chosen host families as a way of maximizing your opportunities to practice Japanese.  Apartments are also available, and there are plenty of reasonably priced hotels nearby.
